Position Title:                                                 Litigation Associate -GBV

Position Summary:
The advocate plays an important role in the organization because he or she is the organization's face and, in most cases, the first point of contact for all beneficiaries seeking legal counsel and legal aid-related services. The advocate will be entrusted with court cases and will handle them in the best interests of the client. He or she is required to act with diligence, commitment, and conscientiousness in order to advance the goal of facilitating access to justice. The job will undertake regular jail visits/field visits under the supervision and direction of the section incharge, as well as maintain daily records and diaries and compile quarterly, monthly, and bimonthly reports on the status of their cases.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
The advocate will be responsible for executing the following duties, which are not limited to:
Following litigation check-lists to be utilized for the purpose of ensuring that all necessary information is produced and maintained as it relates to Gender Based Violence cases,
Interview clients to acquire essential information and better understand their needs.
Coordinate with clients on a daily basis and provide regular updates.
Updating CMS data. Holding talks with LAS stakeholders.
Managing and updating the case file.
On a daily basis, cases are handled diligently before courts and tribunals.
Drafting pleadings, applications, affidavits, written declarations, petitions, and all other papers relating to litigation.
Conducting research.
Ensuring that the Legal Aid Society Litigation Department Internal By-Laws, Chapter III, are followed.
Any additional obligations assigned by the Litigation Manager and Assistant Litigation Manager (M&E).

REQUIREMENTS AND CORE COMPETITIONS
LLB from a Higher Education Commission (HEC)-approved university.
Enrolled as a High Court Advocate.
A thorough awareness of Pakistani laws and legal procedures.
Proficient in authoring, conducting legal research, and managing court processes.
Must be able to draft applications using Microsoft Word.
Must be able to utilize Microsoft Excel for monthly and quarterly reports. Reading, writing, and producing numerous reports requires advanced English skills. Proficiency in Sindhi and Urdu.
Creative, enthusiastic, and able to work autonomously with minimum supervision.
Excellent teamwork skills.
Ability to network and communicate with the community.
Showed adaptability, motivation, and maturity.
Willingness to labor and live in hard circumstances.
Compassion for access to justice, aiding underprivileged members of society, and upholding fundamental rights.
